What’s in our bag(s)

Paul and John are polar opposites when it comes to street shooting.  Paul is a minimalist — he has a Nikon D5X00 series camera (loves the swivel LCD) and the Nikkor 18-200 DX zoom — pretty much it.  Now if you dare to look into his vehicle or studio equipment location stuff you will run out screaming. He has everything but the kitchen sink. John keeps Nikon in business. His walk-about kit consists of a FX Nikon D610 and Nikon DX body (currently a D90) with Nikkor 16-35 zoom and a Nikkor 105 f2.0 fixed focal length lens AND a SB600 speedlight. If toting a bag he might include an assortment including the following Nikkors: 28 f2.8, 50 f1.8, 24-85 zoom, 70-300 VR zoom, 55 micro lens and three additional SB800 speedlights (in case the sun burns out). Of course both have professional quality tripods – Gitzo and Tiltall — both vintage by today’s standard of carbon-fiber lightweight stabilizers.  And both hang onto a P&S each — John likes the little Nikon P6000 and Paul opts for a junky little Canon.  And if all else fails, there is always the iPhone (best camera is the one you have with you).
